You’re right, “I am sorry” are three words that people have as much trouble saying as “I love you.” Mom, like the rest of us, is a work in progress. Raising her is a challenge. lol
I’ll admit sometimes the apologies feel a bit like the abusive spouse who brings home flowers or whatever to make things OK. When I was a kid I remember my mom always saying, when I did something wrong, “If you were really sorry you wouldn’t do it again.” I want to say that back to her many times but I know it’s different.
She gets so caught up in her own “noise” that she just goes off. I’m sure being contained is hard and she does it around others. By the time she talks to me I think her emotional barriers just come down and all the stuff behind the floodgates just pours out. Sometimes she’s my little Katrina.
